Music From United States and United Kingdom

Celebrated in Local Student-Run

Live Event

For the 14th year running, Media students at Suffolk New College gear up to run a ‘Live Event’ with the theme this year being a celebration of music from the United Kingdom and the United States.

The entire production has been orchestrated by second-year Level 3 Media Production & Technology students with the help from other creative departments in order to promote musical talent from within the College. This event will be a live recording of the first pilot episode of ‘United Sounds’.

Event Manager and second-year Media student, Melissa Palmer said “It should be a great event, we have really pushed the boat out this year, we hope it will be better than previous Live Events. A lot of time and effort has gone into the production and all of the students have worked really hard to put on a good show. We are all very excited’.

‘United Sounds’ is in collaboration with ‘BBC Introducing’ where two up-and-coming bands will be performing on the show, as well as supporting the charity ‘Macmillan Cancer Support’.

This year's Live Event has been created, promoted and managed by the Media students with tutors acting as Executive Producers and assisting with the production. It gives the students of Suffolk New College a one of a kind opportunity to show off their talents and get hands-on experience for their futures in the Media Industry.

This highly anticipated event will be taking place on the 1st of February at the Corn Exchange in Ipswich.
